All Northwestern students are responsible for fulfilling their financial obligations to the University. If a student's account becomes overdue, the student must pay a late payment fee of $100. In addition, students are liable for any costs associated with the collection of a past-due account, including, but not limited to, collection agency costs, court costs, and legal fees. A student's account may also be reported to a credit bureau.

The Director of Student Accounts may cancel or prevent the registration of a student whose bills are past due. Students whose University bills are overdue may not be given a diploma or transcript nor have their enrollment or degrees confirmed until all financial obligations are paid in full. Tuition and fees payment due dates for students who advance register are listed in the Academic Calendar of this Web site. Students who register at the start of the term will be billed on the next monthly billing cycle. Billing is done on the 10th of each month and payments are due the 1st of the following month.

Payment due dates cannot be extended. Financial obligations are the student's responsibility; outstanding debts may be determined by logging in to CAESAR at www.northwestern.edu/caesar/ to check account status or by contacting the office of Student Accounts at least one week before the tuition payment is due.

 

eBill & ePay
Effective with the August 2005 fall term invoice, eBilling will become the default method of delivery for Northwestern's tuition and fees bills. With electronic billing, email notification is sent to the student's Northwestern email address when each new bill is securely posted online. Students can access their bills and bill history via CAESAR, www.northwestern.edu/caesar/, CAESAR > For Students > Financial Services > View My E-Bill & E-Payment. Students may authorize other payers (such as parents or sponsors) to view and pay their bills online. Payments may be made online or by check (U.S. bank accounts only).  The eBill & ePay service is available at no charge to Northwestern students and their authorized payers.
