MS Degree Requirements

The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in the Student Services section of this Web site.

Coursework Requirements

The requirements for the Master of Science Degree can be fulfilled by either of two routes: one year of full-time study or part-time study on an ongoing basis. To fulfill the curricular requirements, each student must take a minimum of nine credits. These nine credits are satisfied by taking the fall and winter quarter core curriculum (1 course per quarter, each worth 2 credits) and one elective course during spring quarter (1 credit). The remaining four credits are fulfilled through three quarters of independent study. The third quarter of independent study is worth 2 credits. The student must present and defend a thesis.
