The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in the Current Students section of this Web site

There is no terminal MA in the Department of Art History. The MA is awarded after the satisfactory completion of ART HIST 401-1,2 Methods/Historiography of Art History, six elective courses, the passing of one language examination, and the passing of the MA Examination. Students entering the program with a master’s degree from another institution will be required to take the qualifying examination at the end of their first year to verify their readiness to complete major and minor doctoral field requirements.
