Program DescriptionThe Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) offers MS and PhD degrees in environmental engineering and science, geotechnics, mechanics of solids and materials, structural engineering and materials, theoretical and applied mechanics, transportation systems analysis and planning, and the PhD degree in project management.
Both MS and PhD degree programs provide a strong background in the theory and practice fundamentals of modern civil and environmental engineering through formal course and research requirements. The MS program emphasizes enhancement of professional skills and knowledge, including research techniques. Several standard MS programs are listed below. Other programs combining areas of study can also be arranged. The PhD is a research degree involving novel, creative, and more extensive approaches to problem solving.
Each student's program of study is arranged to suit his or her individual interest and previous education.
Faculty The primary appointment for those faculty with joint or affiliate status in another program is noted in parentheses.
