Other PhD Degree Requirements

  • Examinations: end of first year, written examinations covering core curriculum; research presentation at start of second year; oral exam on dissertation proposal for admission to candidacy
  • Research/Projects: summer research paper at end of second year; third and fourth year, dissertation research
  • PhD Dissertation: original and significant research
  • Final Evaluations: oral defense of dissertation
