Program Description
The Program in Clinical Embryology, administered by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, offers a Master of Science degree to prepare students for a challenging career in the scientific and laboratory aspects of Human Reproduction. This full-time program is designed to serve both recent university graduates and experienced technologists seeking to expand their knowledge for further career advancement. The program will take four academic quarters to complete.

Reproductive Medicine is one of the most dynamic disciplines in Medicine, and its distinctive feature is that much of the progress is laboratory-driven. The Department’s Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility maintains an active ed Assisted Human Reproduction program, and the Division of Reproductive Biology Research is at the forefront of scientific research in human reproduction and women’s health. The combined clinical and scientific resources from these two divisions provide an educational environment that is uniquely suited for the preparation of future professionals and scientists wishing to work in the field of Human Reproduction. In addition, the exposure to active clinical and research laboratories through this program will prepare students for a wide spectrum of career opportunities with academic institutions, health-care providers and related pharmaceutical and lab supply companies.

Students must select one of two degree trajectories before required coursework is completed. One track emphasizes preparation of students for scientific careers in research, educational or industrial organizations, the other for careers in clinical service settings. Students following each track share the same coursework requirement, but their laboratory rotation components differ.

Applicants should contact the program to learn about program-specific requirements for admission.
