Health Services and Outcomes Research Methodology Certificate Requirements

The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in The Graduate School Policy Guide.

To participate in this certificate, students must complete five courses total, three required courses and a two elective courses.

Required Courses

  1. HRS 461: Methods & Measurement
  2. HSR 425: Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Health Services & Outcomes Research
  3. HSR 465: Intermediate Quantitative Methods in Health Services & Outcomes Research

Elective Courses (choose two additional courses)

  1. HSR 456: Applied Qualitative Methods & Analysis for Health Researchers
  2. HSR 433: Health Economics and Healthcare Financing
  3. PH 302: Introduction to Biostatistics
  4. PH 421: Intermediate Biostatistics
  5. HSIP 402: Introduction to Health Measurement Science (approved by the TGS Admin Board and being offered in 2013-14)
  6. HSIP 403: Research Design for the Health Sciences (approved by the TGS Admin Board and being offered in 2013-14)
  7. PH 425: Introduction to GIS and Spatial Analysis for Public Health
  8. PH 438: Survey Design & Methodology
