Northwestern University offers a number of opportunities to pursue joint and dual degree programs. These combined degree programs include joint professional and doctoral degrees, such as the JD/PhD and MD/PhD programs; dual master and doctoral degree courses of study, such as the Life Sciences and Public Health and the Medical Anthropology programs (both MPH/PhD); interdisciplinary cross-school doctorates, such as the PhD program in Management and Organizations and Sociology (bringing together the Kellogg School of Management and the Department of Sociology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences); as well as the unique opportunity to earn a dual doctoral degree from Northwestern and from Sciences Po, the elite social science university in Paris. Certain of these programs students apply for entry before matriculation at Northwestern. Others require students to have already enrolled. Incoming and continuing WCAS students majoring in Chemistry, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Economics, French, Linguistics, Sociology, and Statistics are encouraged to review these pages carefully to determine the admission specifics for joint and dual degrees and if a combined course of study is relevant to their academic and professional goals. Contact TGS or the individual program directors for more information.
