Students Required to Provide Emergency Notification Numbers
Northwestern University is improving its communications systems in order to contact students quickly in the event of a campus emergency. TGS students will be required to provide emergency contact numbers prior to registering for spring quarter.
The new emergency notification system will send a recorded message to students, faculty and staff. Therefore, the University needs to know the best phone number to reach you in the event of an emergency. If that’s your cell phone, provide that number; if you don’t have a cell phone, please provide another current number where you can be reached.
Graduate students will be required to provide this information prior to registering for spring quarter. If a student does not designate at least one number as his/her emergency notification number, a hold will be placed on his/her record and he/she will not be able to register for classes. Registration for spring quarter begins Feb. 25, so students are urged to log into CAESAR and provide their information as soon as possible.
Students should update their personal information through CAESAR on the Registrar’s page. Once you have signed in, proceed to the phone numbers page in the Personal Information section to provide your emergency notification phone number(s). Contact student services
