Women's Health Research Day

Modified: January 22, 2018

The Women’s Health Research Institute, in collaboration with the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, is proud to host the 2nd Annual Symposium on Sex Inclusion in Biomedical Research on January 25, 2018. January 25 is now considered "Women's Health Research Day" in celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the implementation of the landmark policy set forth by the NIH, requiring investigators to consider sex as a biological variable.

This year's symposium theme is "A Spotlight on Autoimmunity," and will feature exciting lectures from national experts in sex-based immunology. The symposium will feature a panel discussion on the state of sex-inclusive science and invited abstract presentations.

Join them for a day of thoughtful discussion of best practices for sex-inclusive research and hear from investigators who are conducting cutting-edge sex-inclusive science. Click here to register View the schedule for Sex Cells 2018 here.

Additionally, Northwestern graduate students are hosting an event at the State of Illinois building on January 25 from 3 - 6 PM to celebrate not only a new era in scientific research and the progress being made towards meeting women’s health goals, but also bring the real results of this sex-inclusive research to the public. They hope to increase understanding at all age levels and acknowledge the science that is happening in Chicago’s own back yard.
