Northwestern's 23rd Annual "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day"
Northwestern’s 23rd annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day will be held on April 27, 2017. This event is part of a national public education program designed to expose girls and boys to a variety of workplace roles. This year’s theme is “Count on Me,” representing the essential workplace character trait of dependability. The Office of Human Resources will host the program, and we are pleased to have continuing sponsorship support from the Women’s Center, the Association of Northwestern University Women (ANUW), and the Office of the President.
The event will take place on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses, and will be FREE for those registered.
- Registration begins on March 28. Please register early to secure a spot, as there are a finite number of spaces available.
- Children will participate in activities built around a STEM curriculum, making math and science fun.
- Parents are encouraged to take their child(ren) to lunch at the conclusion of the event, as it’s a great opportunity to hear about their experience and to check out the local eateries. Click on the city name for a list of Evanston and/or Chicago restaurants. There will be space available on each campus for those who wish to bring a brown bag lunch.
- For more information, visit the event website.
We expect this year’s event will again be educational and fun-filled for both participants and chaperones. Volunteers are needed to make this a truly amazing day for our children, so if you are able to help on April 27, please fill out and submit this volunteer form. Everyone’s cooperation and support is needed to allow flexibility in participating and/or volunteering in this event.
