Northwestern Night at the Art Institute of Chicago

Modified: November 7, 2017

Student Organizations & Activities (SOA) and One Book One Northwestern are co-sponsoring Northwestern Night at the Art Institute of Chicago! This event takes place on Thursday November 9, 2017, from 5-8 PM. During this time, students, faculty, and staff who show a valid Wildcard will receive free museum tickets for themselves and as many guests as they would like to bring. Attendees must check in at the museum’s Modern Wing entrance off of Monroe St. SOA will be providing transportation for enrolled students from the Evanston campus via CTA passes, more details will be available on Wildcat Connection and Facebook prior to the event. Faculty, staff, and guests are encouraged to attend but we are unable to sponsor their transportation.

Guests are welcome to explore the entire museum during their visit, and there will be special offerings taking place as well. Museum staff will lead three tours including an Art Institute Highlights Tour, an American Revolution Art Tour (inspired by the One Book One Northwestern theme), and an Exhibition Tour of Tarsila do Amaral: Inventing Modern Art in Brazil. In addition, student docents from the Block Museum of Art will be stationed in the Contemporary Art galleries to engage visitors in conversations regarding the artwork. Guests will also enjoy special discounts in the museum shop and cafes for the evening.
