Navigating Scholarship, Teaching, and Life: A Lunch Chat with Professor Alyssa Westring, PhD

Alyssa Friede Westring is an Associate Professor of Management at DePaul University and has a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. She teaches in both the MBA and undergraduate programs, with an emphasis on Organizational Behavior and Career Management. Her research focuses broadly on the interplay between work, family, and other life domains. She has a particular interest in women’s careers in academic science. She writes, speaks, coaches and consults on both employee strategies for thriving in work and life as well as creating organizational policies, practices, and cultures that support these employees. She lives in Hyde Park with her husband, two young kids, and dog.

Professor Westring will discuss both her research on work/life conflict and her own experiences managing her scholarly and personal priorities.

The event will take place in the TGS Commons. TGS Chicago students will be able to attend via simulcast from the TGS Abbott Hall conference room. Lunch will be provided.
