Faculty/Grad Symposium - Meeting Jesus In The Ordinary Academic Life: Practices That Pave The Way

The Graduate Christian Fellowship will host an outside speaker Tish Warren, author of Liturgy of the Ordinary from 6 PM - 9 PM in the TGS Commons on November 3. Warren will lead a reflection time on how ordinary everyday practices shape a person's life, with special attention to practices that are unique to academia. She will then discuss how historic Christian disciplines and practices can foster personal flourishing amid the demands of academia. Food will be provided and all faith backgrounds are welcome!
 
Bio: Tish Harrison Warren is a priest in the Anglican Church in North America and author of The Liturgy of the Ordinary (IVP, 2016). After eight years with InterVarsity Graduate and Faculty Ministries at Vanderbilt and The University of Texas at Austin, she now serves as co-associate rector at Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She writes regularly for The Well, CT Women (formerly her.meneutics), and Christianity Today. Her work has also appeared in Comment Magazine, Christ and Pop Culture, Art House America, and elsewhere.
