Counterculture Study Group

Modified: October 20, 2017

A new Counterculture Study Group is being convened by faculty and graduate students from several departments and schools and is supported by the Center for Civic Engagement and the University Library.

The catalyst for this effort is an academic conference that was held this summer in San Francisco (complete program found here), organized by a group of scholars from the Bay Area and Northwestern. Over 150 scholars from around the world attended (see the Chronicle publication here) and the group organizers want to continue the momentum of that meeting.

The goal of the Counterculture Study Group is to support graduate students and faculty in advancing groundbreaking work that reconsiders the countercultural movement and its legacies through nuanced, unanticipated, or innovative perspectives.

Those interested in joining the group should fill out this short form by November 3, 2017.
