Code for the kids

On February 24th and 25th, the Illinois Institute of Technology will host more than 75 undergraduate and graduate students from Illinois universities to leverage their technical skillsets to improve the lives of children and families within the foster care system. At the end of the 2-day event, student teams will present functional prototypes that demonstrate the back end strategy and front end user experience of a peer-to-peer platform that will connect foster families to one another. A panel of judges including a foster parent, a technology professional, and a representative from the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology will evaluate the desirability, ingenuity, viability of the solutions presented.
