Vicki Dekker Joins TGS as Associate Dean for Administration & Planning

Modified: September 23, 2016

Dear Members of The Graduate Community at Northwestern,

After a robust national search, I am pleased to announce that Vicki Dekker will be joining The Graduate School as Associate Dean for Administration and Planning beginning on October 3, 2016. Vicki currently serves as Director of Executive Education in the Kellogg School of Management, where she has led academic direction, overseen program design, and implemented professional development initiatives. Prior to her current appointment, she served as Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs & Academic Departments at Kellogg, during which time she was responsible for strategic planning, performance management, and organizational design. Vicki also lead the design and establishment of the Office of Faculty Affairs, supporting Kellogg’s academic professionals in every step of their employment lifecycle. Vicki also holds an MBA from Kellogg.

In her role as TGS Associate Dean for Administration and Planning, Vicki will serve as chief operations officer in TGS and will be responsible for all aspects of school administration and management. She will maintain administrative oversight of TGS units in setting plans and budgets to ensure that our strategic objectives are successfully implemented to promote Northwestern’s competitive advantage in master’s and doctoral education, and to serve our population of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. She will oversee our Financial Aid, Research and Analysis, English Language Programs, Information Technology, and Service Center units.

I have very much enjoyed getting to know Vicki during the recruitment process and I am confident that she will make a wonderful addition to TGS’s senior leadership team. Please join me in welcoming Vicki to The Graduate School.

With Warm Regards,

Dwight A. McBride, PhD
Associate Provost & Dean of The Graduate School
