Science Fair Judging Volunteer Opportunity

Science in Society, an educational research center at Northwestern University, is currently recruiting 20-30 graduate students, postdocs, and staff volunteers to serve as science fair judges at a middle school in Uptown and a high school in West Ridge. Volunteers can sign up for one or both events on December 16th or 19th. More details are available.

Each judge will review 7-9 science projects. The format will include a short poster presentation by the student, followed by questions from the judges. Training materials for evaluating youth science projects will be provided in advance (requiring ~30 minutes to review). Judges will be provided with lots of coffee, donuts, and bagels at the event.
