Professional and Presentation Skills for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

Modified: November 22, 2016

This series of lectures and one-on-one coaching for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows focuses on the development of presentation skills necessary for success within the professional world. Through 3 short group lectures and 2 one-on-one coaching sessions, each student will receive personalized attention tailored to the realities of professional practice that goes beyond the basics offered in more general public speaking course offerings.  Participants will leave the workshop with increased skills in, among other things, non-verbal body language; critical listening and storytelling; audience analysis; and structuring a clear message through visual design.

The workshop meets three times on Tuesday December 6, Tuesday December 13, and Thursday December 15 from 4:00-5:30 PM, in addition to two one-on-one coaching sessions. The event will take place on the Evanston campus (exact room TBA). Registration is required as space is limited.  Register to participate.
