Postdoc Associate Position at Yale School of Public Health

Modified: February 8, 2016

The Weinberger Lab at Yale School of Public Health (New Haven, CT) is looking to hire a postdoctoral associate in experimental microbiology to work on an NIH-funded study, starting immediately. The project will be focused on molecular aspects of pneumococcal serotype interactions. It is expected that the applicant will primarily be working in the wet-lab, with associated statistical and bioinformatics analysis. Opportunities are available to shape the specifics and scope of the project. The lab is a highly interdisciplinary group and has individuals with expertise in microbiology, mathematical modeling, biostatistics, and evolutionary biology. Applicants should have a PhD in microbiology or molecular biology or a closely related field.  The ideal applicant will be highly motivated and independent with a background in experimental microbiology. Experience with statistical programming (R, SAS, or STATA) and familiarity with bioinformatic and genomic tools would be a plus. The candidate should be able to demonstrate evidence of strong written and oral communication skills and past productivity. The initial funding is for 2 years, with competitive pay. Please submit your CV, 2 sample publications, and the contact information for references here
