Northwestern's Off-Campus Life Office

Modified: February 29, 2016

The mission of the Northwestern Off-Campus Life office is to serve as the first point of contact for students moving and living off-campus. The office helps students address issues and needs related to off-campus living and educates students about their rights and responsibilities as members of the Evanston and Chicago communities.

For those beginning a housing search, Off-Campus Life offers property listings, sublet options, and a roommate-finding service through Places4Students.com. With listings in Evanston as well as Chicago, this free platform is a great starting point if you are trying to get a better sense of various accommodations available for rent and contact landlords directly.

You can consult the Off-Campus Life website for information on tenant rights and responsibilities, as well as guidance on how to approach common situations that students may face while moving or living off-campus. Our office also created a new video designed to inform students of what to keep an eye out for inside a building or house when visiting potential properties.

Please feel free to contact Off-Campus Life via email if you have any questions about life off-campus or would like to sign up for the office’s listserv or via phone at 847-491-8430. And don’t forget to “like” the Off-Campus Life Facebook Page to receive updates on free and fun events happening in the Evanston and Chicago communities.
