Join the Alice Millar Chapel Choir

Alice Millar Chapel Choir

Alice Millar Chapel, located at the south end of campus, is known for its spectacular stained glass and a nationally recognized music program.  The Alice Millar Chapel Choir is at the heart of that program and is open to membership for all students, staff and faculty.  The chapel choir provides music for University Chapel Services each Sunday during the academic year and four concerted events.

No previous choral experience is necessary to join and membership in the choir ranges from music major to engineering student and from first time choir singer to seasoned veteran.  No religious affiliation is required for membership.  The choir rehearses each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:10-5:4pm.  The Thursday rehearsal is preceded by the much beloved Koffee Klatch where students enjoy homemade snacks provided by community members and have a time for open conversation.

Many students make their social and musical home in the Alice Millar Chapel choir.  A recent alum offered that choir was his “family during his time at Northwestern” and that it was a “place of repose from…academic life.”

Students interested in the Chapel Choir should contact Director of Music Stephen Alltop via email or 847-491-2299.
