Deadline for entries is January 19The Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University is accepting entries to the Flame Challenge. The Flame Challenge is an international science communication competition where scientists are challenged to explain a scientific concept to 11-year-old children around the world. This year’s question is “What is Sound?” Entries can be in written or visual form and will be judged by thousands of 5ht and 6th grade students from around the world. One winner will be chosen for visual form and one will be chosen for written form. Winners receive a trip to NYC to meet Alan Alda, a $1000 prize and will be honored at the World Science Festival in early June. The deadline for submissions is January 19.
