Swing into Spring with Northwestern's Swing Dance Syndicate

Modified: April 17, 2015

This quarter, NSDS will have two 8-week series on Thursdays starting April 16. The first week is in Ryan auditorium in Tech.

6:45-7:45pm - Intro to swing: Playful yet structured, vintage yet hip, Lindy Hop and Charleston are dances that swing dancers (and future swing dancers) will fall in love with! This Intro to Swing Series will cover the fundamentals of Lindy Hop, Charleston, and transitions between these two dances. This series is accessible to complete beginner dancers, yet will delve into technique and skills that more experienced dancers will benefit from. Come find out how fun, playful, rhythmic, social, and fun swing dancing is! The classes will build off each other, so please try to attend as many as you are able to.

8-9pm - Continuing swing: Ready to take your lindy hop to the next level? This is a series for people who are familiar with lindy hop (i.e., the swing out and Lindy circle) and are ready to learn more. In this series, we will learn fun new patterns, how to make our dance a conversation, technique to help us create (or steal!) moves, and much more. The classes will build off each other, so please try to attend as many as you are able to. That way, by the end of the term, everyone will be able to lift their lindy hop to the next level.

All classes are open to the public. No need to bring a partner. $5 per drop-in class with discounts available. See Facebook for more details or email NUswingdance@gmail.com for weekly updates.
