Jennifer Hobbs, PhD, and Kate Veraldi Promoted at The Graduate School

Modified: September 8, 2015

Dear Members of The Graduate School Community at Northwestern,

It is my pleasure to inform you that Jennifer E. Hobbs, PhD and Kathryn Veraldi have been promoted at The Graduate School (TGS).

Jennifer E. Hobbs, PhD, is promoted to Assistant Dean, Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Development.  In her time at TGS, Jen has developed as a strong campus leader, resulting in the increased presence and awareness of both the Training Grant Support Office and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Northwestern. Both offices have grown their capacity and strategic capabilities under Jennifer’s leadership, and today the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is a strong advocate and service provider for our postdoctoral community, while the Training Grant Support Office continues to support successful training grant applications in an increasingly competitive market.

Kate Veraldi is promoted to Senior Director, Student Services. Kate has been a strong leader of our Student Services team, where she engages campus partners, works to best serve our population of graduate students, serves as an advocate for the unique needs of our graduate student population, and has a robust working relationship with numerous individuals and offices around the university. She has recently spearheaded the launch of the Graduate Student Tracking System; a tool that we are confident will improve service delivery to students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

Please join me in congratulating Jennifer and Kate on their new, expanded roles at TGS.

Warmly,

Dwight A. McBride, PhD
Associate Provost & Dean of The Graduate School
Daniel Hale Williams Professor of African American Studies, English & Performance Studies
