TGS Professional Development Series: Professional and Presentation Skills for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

Modified: November 5, 2014

This series of lectures and one-on-one coaching for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows focuses on the development of presentation skills necessary for success within the professional world. Through 3 short group lectures and 2 one-on-one coaching sessions, each student will receive personalized attention tailored to the realities of professional practice that goes far beyond the basics offered in more general public speaking course offerings.  Participants will leave the workshop with increased skills in, among other things, non-verbal body language; critical listening and storytelling; audience analysis; and structuring a clear message through visual design.

The workshop meets three times on December 2, 9, and 11 from 4:00-5:30 PM, in addition to two one-on-one coaching sessions during the week. The event will take place on Evanston Campus in Silverman Hall. Registration is required, as space is limited.  Register to participate.  View more information.
