Searle Center Library, Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching, 627 Dartmouth Pl., Evanston

LGBTQ+ policies and practices are being challenged more visibly than ever in higher education, as students begin to highlight their experiences as oppressed identities both inside and outside the classroom. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the concept of microaggressions towards LGBTQ+ students that may be present in a classroom setting. Through activities and dialogue, participants will construct action plans to disrupt oppressive microaggressions, and understand different ways they can create affirming and validating spaces for LGBTQ+ students.

Workshop Facilitator: Brett Stachler, Gender and Sexuality Resource Center
